Worm Worries

Parasite-related problems can haunt your horse even in cold weather.


We ensure our horses are properly dewormed all year round.
When you think “worms,” you may think summer, but the damage caused by these pests can last longer than the warm temperatures. As the summer’s load of bot-fly larvae grow and mature inside the horse, they can cause significant damage to the lining of the stomach or small intestine. After they detach at maturity, they leave behind raw areas that are susceptible to further damage from stomach acid or bile.
